Shape the Future of Animal Welfare in Essex

Do you have the passion and expertise to help us give local animals a second chance?

As a newly registered CIO (Charity No. 1211083), we are entering an exciting new chapter. We are looking for hands-on, enthusiastic Trustees to join our governing board and help drive the strategy that saves lives across Mid and North Essex.

The Impact You’ll Make

As a Trustee, you aren’t just a name on a list; you are a key decision-maker. You will:

  • Set the Strategy: Influence the long-term aims of a locally funded charity.
  • Provide Oversight: Ensure we remain a sustainable and effective lifeline for abandoned and neglected animals.
  • Champion the Cause: Act as an ambassador for animal kindness in our community.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking dedicated individuals who bring a genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to preventing cruelty. We are particularly interested in candidates with professional experience in:

  • HR & Volunteer Management: Helping us support our staff and grow our vital volunteer network.
  • Strategic Fundraising & Marketing: Driving income to fund local clinical care and rescue.
  • Financial Management / Accountancy: Ensuring our local funds are used effectively.
  • Legal, Governance, or Business Development: Navigating our new CIO status and retail growth.

The Commitment

  • Meetings: One monthly committee meeting (approx. 2–3 hours).
  • Term: Trustees are elected for a 12-month term at our AGM.
  • Requirement: You must be aged 18+ and be (or become) a member of our branch.
  • Support: Reasonable expenses are reimbursed, and full induction is provided.

Why Join Us?

  • Make a Difference: Directly impact animal welfare in your own neighbourhood.
  • Network: Work alongside a team of dedicated, like-minded professionals.
  • Develop: Gain board-level experience and sharpen your leadership skills.
