Much of our direct animal welfare work is carried out through our branches. These separately registered charities across England and Wales are run by volunteers who are unstinting in their work for animal welfare.

**Paw Festival Event Helper – Volunteer Role ** Big Leicester Paw Festival – 29 August 2026 - Everards Meadows, Leicestershire

About the Event

RSPCA Woodside is proud to launch the first-ever Big Leicester Paw Festival — a brand-new annual celebration of dogs, community, and animal welfare. In partnership with Everards, this full-day festival will bring together families, dog lovers, local businesses, and supporters for fun, entertainment, education, and fundraising.

Role Overview

We are looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to support the smooth running of the festival. As a Paw Festival Event Helper, you’ll play a vital part in creating an enjoyable, safe, and welcoming experience for all attendees.

What You’ll Be Doing

Roles will vary depending on the needs of the day, but may include:

Visitor Welcome — greeting guests, directing footfall, offering information Car Park & Traffic Marshalls - Directing visitors to parking spaces and overflow car park areas. Activity Support — helping run games, competitions, and activities Dog Zone Assistance — supporting dog-friendly areas and ensuring welfare guidance is followed Stall & Vendor Support — assisting stallholders with set-up, customer flow, and enquiries Fundraising Support — helping with donation points, raffles, and merchandise Event Logistics — supporting set-up, pack-down, signage, and general operations Shifts

A range of shift patterns will be available to suit different schedules. Volunteers can choose morning, afternoon, or full-day support.
