About the Role

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you will play an important role in helping the RSPCA Stort Valley Branch raise vital funds to support animals in our local community. By contributing your ideas, time and enthusiasm, you will help organise and deliver fundraising activities that enable the branch to continue its essential animal welfare work.

This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity, suitable for individuals who enjoy working as part of a team and engaging with the local community.

What you will be doing

  • Attend regular Fundraising Committee meetings to discuss fundraising initiatives, share ideas and help plan future activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other volunteers to organise fundraising events throughout the year.
  • Support the planning, preparation and delivery of fundraising events.
  • Represent the RSPCA Stort Valley Branch at community fundraising events.
  • Help run fundraising activities such as:

Pop-up charity shops

Car boot/jumble sales stalls

Community fairs and local events

  • Assist with setting up and packing down event equipment and displays.
  • Welcome and engage with members of the public, promoting the work of the branch and encouraging support.
  • Handle donations and sales in accordance with branch procedures.
  • Help promote fundraising events through local networks and, where appropriate, social media.
  • Support the branch in identifying new fundraising opportunities within the local community.

What we are looking for

We're looking for volunteers who are:

  • Enthusiastic and reliable.
  • Friendly and approachable.
  • Passionate about animal welfare.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Willing to engage with members of the public.
  • Organised and able to contribute ideas.
  • Flexible and willing to help at a variety of fundraising activities.
  • Volunteers need to be aged 18 or over.
  • Must be able to complete online induction health & safety training. You will need basic IT skills and access to a computer for this.

Previous fundraising experience is welcome but not essential, as training and support will be provided.

Time Commitment

This role is flexible and can fit around your availability.

Volunteers are encouraged to:

  • Attend Fundraising Committee meetings where possible.
  • Support fundraising events throughout the year.
  • Volunteer at occasional weekends and community events, depending on availability.
