Outreach Volunteer (Whitby to Filey including Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley)
Overview of opportunity
We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate people to help raise awareness of the RSPCA Scarborough & District Branch which helps and supports animals in need. You should be a friendly and self-motivated person who has an awareness of local events which you can attend to help promote awareness of the branch and its aims.
The Scarborough & District Branch area covers Whitby to Filey including Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley. We are looking for volunteers in towns across our whole branch area including Scarborough.
About the RSPCA
Founded in 1824, we have been saving animals for almost 200 years and are proud to be the oldest welfare charity around. It has always been our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion, so our volunteers and employees work tirelessly to ensure that all animals can live free from pain and suffering.
Through our numerous campaigns, we seek to raise standards of care and awareness of issues affecting animals today. We rely heavily on our volunteers, who play a significant role in enabling us to carry out this important animal welfare work every day!
The RSPCA Scarborough & District Branch
The RSPCA Scarborough & District Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.
Outreach Volunteer responsibilities
Supported by the RSPCA Scarborough Branch you will be responsible for identifying suitable events and locations appropriate for raising awareness of the local branch and its aims.
This might include but is not limited to attendance at fayres, community events as well as working with the committee to organise fundraising activities where appropriate. This role is new, and you will have a direct influence on how it develops.
We hope to build a network of like-minded individuals across the branch area who can represent the branch and raise the awareness and profile of the local work we do as well as the work of the broader National Society.
