Branch Volunteer Coordinator (Home Based)
Overview of opportunity
As a Volunteer Coordinator, you would be the central point of contact for current and potential volunteers and would play a vital role in their recruitment and retention. You will maintain our log of volunteer enquiries and pass details on to the appropriate Trustee to follow up (where a volunteer is still interested in getting involved and needs to speak to someone who has experience of the role/responsibility).
You’ll be supported by a small pool of our volunteer trustees, one of whom will meet with you on a regular basis. We would anticipate the effort required for this volunteer role would be between 10 and 15 hours per month.
About the RSPCA
Founded in 1824 we have been saving animals for almost 200 years and are proud to be the oldest welfare charity around. It has always been our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion, so our volunteers and employees work tirelessly to ensure that all animals can live free from pain and suffering.
Through our numerous campaigns, we seek to raise standards of care, and awareness of issues, affecting animals today. We rely heavily on our volunteers who play a significant role in enabling us to carry out this important animal welfare work every day!
The RSPCA Guildford and Epsom Branch
The Guildford and Epsom Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. A huge amount of the animal welfare work of the RSPCA is carried out through the branches, and you as the Volunteer Coordinator will be involved in managing the volunteer base for our branch so that we can promote and provide animal welfare within our branch area.
