Do you like meeting new people?

Our home visitors play a vital role by visiting the homes of potential adopters to assess their suitability for an RSPCA animal, as well as undertaking follow up visits to ensure that adoptions have been a success.

You will attend the RSPCA's home visiting training course before undertaking any home visits. It is important that your are being familiar with and following at all times our re-homing policies, guidelines and procedures.

A key responsibility is making contact with a potential adopter within 48 hours of receiving the request for a home visit and making arrangements for the home visit to be completed within 7 days. You will also be reporting the findings of the home visit promptly to the re-homing co-ordinator for a final decision. Also being aware of the needs of a particular animal and assessing potential adopters accordingly.

You'll be required to carry out some administrative work, completing all documentation neatly and accurately and returning it to the re-homing co-ordinator as soon as possible following the completion of the home visit and attend teams meetings as necessary. You will be aware of and follow personal safety guidelines while acting at all times as a good ambassador for the national Society, supporting its policies and aims whilst on RSPCA business.

It would be an advantage that you have previous knowledge and experience of keeping pets, however training will be provided if necessary. You'll be a confident individual and are a good communicator. You'll also have the ability to focus on the task at hand and complete each one precisely under minimal supervision.

You'll meet new people and make friends on your visits and as a member of the home visiting team, you will work with your fellow volunteers. If you think this is the role for you then click the 'apply' button and tell us more about you.
