Kennel Assistant
Do you love dogs? Do you have a calm and understanding nature?
Many of the dogs in our care have never experienced life in a loving, family home. Whilst waiting for someone to give them a forever home, animals get all the care they need in one of our animal centres, and our volunteer kennels assistants play a vital part in this under the direction of the centre managers.
Our kennel assistants play a crucial role caring for the dogs while waiting to be re-homed in our centres. They assist with feeding, cleaning disinfecting and maintaining kennels to a high standard. They also spend time exercising and attending to the dogs care and grooming needs. All tasks will follow current administrative health and safety procedures in place at the centre.
You'll be working as part of a team but you will need to be able to work under minimal supervision. You'll need to feel comfortable and have some knowledge of reading dogs behaviour and also need to have the physical ability of carry out tasks, however required training will be provided.
You'll make friends and meet new people, caring for dogs while they wait for a forever home. It is important they are provided with the best possible care and treated with the upmost patience as many of the dogs that come into our centres have not had a loving history. If this sounds like something up your kennel click the 'apply' button now.
Please note that at our centre we require you to be aged 18 years or over.
