Overview of opportunity

Our event is Smellz Like Team Spirit!" It is for the region's RSPCA family to spend time together and celebrate our fantastic community. We thought what better way than to have an afternoon filled with laughter, so we hired Cleveleys Race track in Salford for an afternoon of daft track and field events.

We just need volunteers to help us run the show and make the fun flow!

You will join a team of volunteers headed up by Susie and Steph and should be prepared for a 'sports day' with a difference.

The RSPCA RSPCA Manchester and Salford Branch

The RSPCA Manchester and Salford Branch are one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which are run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.

Events Volunteer responsibilities

There is a range of volunteering opportunities to choose from, such as:

  • Event marshalling.
  • Being front of house at our registration desk
  • Running the heats.
  • Running a stall e.g. the cake, refreshments, or teddy tombola.

What we are looking for in a Fundraising Events Volunteer

  • Someone approachable; we want everyone to feel welcomed and appreciated for their contribution to the RSPCA.
  • It is an athletics track so you must be able to walk a reasonable distance, although chairs will be provided for resting.
  • A sense of humour is imperative.
  • Under-18s can volunteer, provided they are accompanied by an adult.
  • We anticipate that the volunteers would need to commit to four hours for the event on the 17th June 2023.

What we can offer you as a Fundraising Events Volunteer

  • You will make a massive difference to the welfare of the animals in your area.
  • Join a community that will enable you to meet new people and make new friends.
  • Enhance your CV by adding your volunteering experience and newly acquired skills.

We hope you are interested in volunteering for our branch! To apply, please email Susie Hughes at admin@rspca-manchesterandsalford.org.uk.

Our voluntary roles are subject to an informal interview and trial period. We will ask you to provide contact details for two referees, and dependent on the position, you may need to sign an agreement and undergo specific training before starting the role.
