Charity Shop Volunteer (Volunteer Driver)
We are the RSPCA and it's our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion. Our volunteers are incredible, they play an essential role in helping us carry out our important animal welfare work every day.
The RSPCA in York are looking for volunteers to collect donations from our animal center and distribute them to our charity shops. Other tasks may include: Collecting donations from customers homes, taking rubbish to the tip, moving stock and equipment between the shops. Our shops can't operate without donations and we desperately need a driver to help us out.
Depending upon the day of the driving role, a van may be provided. In other cases, drivers will need to use their own vehicle. These roles will require you to handle donations in varying sizes so if you are using your own vehicle it needs to be suitable for this. All drivers are required to have a valid driving licence and if using your own vehicle valid insurance and MOT (if applicable). Where a van is provided, all volunteer drivers must ensure that they use the van for RSPCA purposes only.
You can work as little as four hours per week depending on how much free time you have to offer. You will be helping the community, funding the animal rescue center and giving back to the community! We will cover your fuel for the role at 45p/mile. Health and safety inductions will be available before you start from COVID-19 precautions to manual handling.
Please apply now and help to fund the RSPCA in York. We look forward to welcoming you to our team!
