Are you great with people? Are you good at building relationships, identifying how you can help others and then getting things done? Do you wish to use your skills to do something meaningful? Are you interested in Animal Welfare? The RSPCA needs people like you so that we can help the animals of Middlesbrough and South Tees.

Trustees run Charities like Boards run Companies. As a Trustee you will be a full and equal member of our leadership team. Deciding what to do, how we raise and spend money, organising events, working as a team to help animals within our region.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

Trustees manage the RSPCA Middlesbrough, South Tees & District Branch charity. Like any company we get involved in finance, people and legal topics, making strategies and monitoring our progress. More importantly, we focus on raising funds, managing volunteers and spending money where it is needed to support animals in our region - YOUR region.

As Community Outreach Lead you will be at the heart of our activities with the local community. Identifying how we can connect with local residents and businesses, understanding what local Inspectors need and working with your fellow Trustees to turn that into actions that can make a real difference.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Acting as the primary contact point for all branch connections with the local community residents, businesses, vets, RSPCA Inspectors, retailers, other charities or welfare providers, and anyone involved with animals
  • Building connections and partnerships within the community to improve animal welfare programs or increase fundraising
  • Liaising with the RSPCA Inspectors to truly understand what they need and how we can help them
  • Identifying the biggest animal welfare issues in the local area and developing plans to address these
  • Being the face of the Branch in the local community, well known among volunteers and our partners, representing the Branch and the RSPCA

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Whatever your background or skills there is a role you can play. We support all types of animals and we seek all types of people - diversity is our strength. We seek people who want to work together to improve animal welfare. We are a team; we support each other and learn from each other. You do not need to be an experienced Trustee - we can help with that. We want you to bring your skills and motivation, your problem-solving skills and ability to get along with people and get things done. If you live on Teesside, we would love to hear from you. Together we can make a real difference.

WHAT DIFFERENCE WILL YOU MAKE?

There are lots of benefits to becoming an RSPCA Middlesbrough, South Tees & District Branch Trustee, these include:

  • Use your skills to do something useful
  • Pass on your skills and learn new ones
  • Trustee training and experience
  • Real leadership experience
