Small Animal Fosterer (Ferret Fosterer for West Hatch, Somerset)
As a ferret fosterer you'll be looking after RSPCA ferrets in your own home until they find a loving new permanent home. You'll assist with all their needs including feeding, playing with, and handling them whilst they are in your care. The love and interaction you'll provide will help socialise the animals you are fostering aiding a better chance for a successful rehoming.
We're looking for people who have cared for ferrets before and have an understanding about their unique needs. We can provide food, furnishings, and outdoor accommodation measuring 3 metres long by 2 metres wide, or assist with furnishing an appropriate indoor space for the ferrets.
If you could provide a temporary loving home for one or more ferrets, then this could be the perfect role for you! Click the 'apply' button and tell us more about you.
What is required:
-
Experience of keeping ferrets and confidence handling them
-
Existing outdoor ferret accommodation measuring at least 2m by 3m. Alternatively, enough garden space to fit the supplied run measuring 2m wide by 3m long by 2m high, with an internal 1.5m by 0.6m wooden hutch. The accommodation comes flat packed and will need to be assembled.
-
If you would prefer to house your foster ferrets indoors, they will need a quiet spare room to themselves.
-
Be able to transport the foster ferret/s to West Hatch for monthly health checks
-
Have lots of love, time and patience to give the ferret/s in your care the best chance at a happy ever after when ready for rehoming
