Receptionist (Mallydams Wood Wildlife Receptionist)

Opportunity image

Do you like meeting new people, helping wildlife, helping people and creating a friendly environment where people feel welcome? Can you remain calm under pressure, multi-task and keep a busy reception desk running efficiently and smoothly?

Our reception is often the first point of contact that members of the public have with Mallydams, so creating a great first impression is essential. The reception area is a busy hub for our centre during our spring and summer seasons. Currently our wildlife assistants are trying to juggle caring for the animals and running to the phone when they can, so to take some pressure off and try to ensure we can help as many people and animals as possible we would be extremely grateful for a volunteer receptionist to intercept the doorbell and the phone.

A receptionist will be the central point for questions and queries, in person and over the phone. Our receptionists need to be friendly and helpful, whilst developing the knowledge to help with lots of diverse enquiries to our centre, but we wouldn't expect you to have all the answers, our staff will be on hand with any queries and questions the public may have

You’ll need to be comfortable using a phone and computer system, but don’t worry we’ll show you how, and be comfortable talking to people from all parts of the community.

You might be looking for something to put experience on your CV, want to keep busy and meet new people, or just donate your time and skills to help animals in need. If you love working with the public and think you’ve got what it takes to be the face of the RSPCA, this may be the role for you. Click ‘apply’ and tell us more about you.
