Dog Fosterer
We are looking to trial short term foster carers for some of our dogs. We are wishing to offer some of our dogs some stress free time away from the kennels by the way of overnight or weekend stays. We appreciate that many people work fulltime and cannot offer long term foster places but still wish to help a rescue dog in need.
This is a great opportunity to make a real difference to the welfare of our dogs.
Your evening or weekend could look like playing in the home/garden. Relaxing together in front of the TV or reading a book. Just providing quality, quiet time in a home environment with companionship.
Please be aware that many of the dogs that require this special care can be larger or more boiterous breeds.
What is required: -You will live within an hours drive to the centre
- Secure garden
- You must be able to transport the dog to and from the centre between the hours of 08.45 and 17:15
- Have time to spend with them or be around for them for the time they are with you.
- Have lots of love, time, flexibility and patience to give the animal in your care some downtime away from the kennel.
-There will be no other pets at the property.
-There will be no young children living or visiting the property whilst the dog is there.
All necessary equipment, food and Veterinary care will be supplied and funded by the RSPCA through our animal centres. You will meet new people in this role and have the support of our staff on hand should you need it.
Please note; Due to kennel dogs taking time to adjust to new environments, it may not be suitable to take your foster dog on a walk when doing short term foster.
To apply, please complete our application form which will ask you to expand on your experience and home environment. Our application process is very thorough as fostering is a very responsible but rewarding role. It may take upto 30 minutes to complete the application, so make sure you have a cup of tea to hand as you complete it.
