Dog Fosterer (Dog foster Kent)

Opportunity image

We're seeking compassionate individuals to provide temporary foster care for dogs and puppies of all backgrounds. Many of the dogs in our care thrive in a home environment, especially those with medical needs, shy temperaments, or young puppies. Fostering also helps dogs involved in RSPCA investigations, offering them comfort and stability during a potentially lengthy process.

Fostering is a flexible and incredibly rewarding way to help. You'll receive comprehensive support from our animal centre, including all necessary supplies, equipment and vet treatment. You'll be part of a wider RSPCA team, working alongside experts to rehabilitate animals in need.

You'll join a supportive community with staff on hand and access to online training and wellbeing resources.

If you're over 18, have time to dedicate, and can transport your foster dog to vet appointments, you could make a real difference. By fostering, you also help us create more space in our centres to assist more animals. Ready to be a hero? Complete our application form to join our team.

To apply, please complete our application form which will ask you to expand on your experience and home environment. Our application process is very thorough as fostering is a very responsible but rewarding role. It may take upto 30 minutes to complete the application, so make sure you have a cup of tea to hand as you complete it.

If successful, you’ll be added to our team of fosterers who can be contacted by any of our National Centres or Branches looking for the right person with the right skills to support a particular dog. You’ll get online access to all the necessary training for your role and we ask you to keep this up to date. We have a suite of wellbeing resources available and can make reasonable role adjustments to support you in your volunteering.

We celebrate and respect the diversity of our RSPCA team and embrace the individual qualities, skills and experiences that everyone brings.
